After your attendance at Accident & Emergency or a Minor Injuries Unit you may have been referred to the virtual fracture clinic.
This is a process by which your xrays and the clinical information provided to us are reviewed by an Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon on the next working day following your attendance.
From this the Consultant will make a plan and you will receive a letter or an appointment to be seen in clinic this can be by a doctor, plaster technician or hand therapist.
Patients who are sent a letter are deemed to have injuries that are stable and will heal themselves without the need for further input at the hospital. The letter will give information on who to contact if things aren’t progressing as planned.
Please see the following pages for more information.
